Jason has been a High School Counselor for seven years and has worked in education cumulatively for over fifteen years. Jason’s goal is to work with each individual student based on their unique needs and assist them in finding a college that best fits them.  He recently joined Firat Education as a Senior College Admissions Consultant in July 2020.

Jason has two years of college counseling experience, demonstrated by his assistance in over 1,000 high school students’ college applications.  Jason has also visited over 50 universities nationwide and continues to nurture relationships with college admissions representative.

A Denver, Colorado native, Jason has also lived in the Phoenix Area and Tampa, Florida. Jason attended a private college preparatory school before completing his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Arizona State University. Jason also possesses a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Colorado at Denver, and a PhD in Criminology from the University of South Florida. 

Jason coached Middle, High School and Traveling Club Basketball for over twelve years, has coached numerous athletes who went on to play at the college level, and five professional athletes. He does like to note that not a single one of the professional athletes he has coached is playing professional basketball. Jason is also a freelance writer and has also been featured as professional expert on Health.com. In his spare time, Jason enjoys running, reading, anything related to the Denver Broncos, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.

The College and Career Assessment is a a three session assessment of personality, interests, skills and abilities in order to identify the most fitting careers, college majors and up to 30 colleges based on size, location, academics, and extracurriculars that are best fit for the student.

If your student is not satisfied with his or her college and major list, Jason will work with your student to develop a new list that he or she feels confident about while also considering college compatibility.
