Ne’Shaun has 25 years of managing college access and academic support services at Texas A&M, Southern Methodist University, and University of Texas – Dallas. Ne’Shaun is currently an International Senior Educational Consultant for the Center for Teacher Effectiveness and most recently joined Firat Education in January 2020.
Ne’Shaun has helped over 800 students through the college admissions process, yielding over 1,200 college acceptances, including 25 from Ivy League universities. She has visited over 50 colleges and continues to nurture relationships with college admissions representatives. Ne’Shaun has also helped high school students receive over $3 million in financial aid for college.
Ne’Shaun enjoys helping her students become independent learners in higher education though faculty engagement and institutional social capital. Her work explores pathways to help families understand the college admissions process and how to find the “best” fit college. Ne’Shaun also has experience training educators in effective and efficient communication with their students, improving classroom instruction and reducing discipline, so that daily classroom objectives may be prioritized.
Dr. Ne’Shaun Jones obtained her Ed.D. at Texas Tech University in 2017, after conducting research on the acquisition of social capital among ethnically diverse first-generation upperclassmen at a public four-year institution.
